Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX (EVO 9) Power Package

The Mitsubishi EVO IX is the culmination of the lessons learnt from the EVO VII and EVO VIII models. Released in 2005, the biggest mechanical change was the inclusion of a MIVEC cylinder head which provided the EVO IX with variable cam control on the intake cam. Coupled with a revised turbocharger, this resulted in a significant improvement in bottom end torque, and a wider power band in comparison to the EVO VIII.
STM have developed a simple upgrade system specifically for the EVO IX platform. Our upgrades focus on improving torque and power throughout the engine’s rev range, without sacrificing driveability or reliability. Our staged upgrades allow you to modify your pride and joy with the confidence of a tested and proven result. With our staged upgrades, you can choose the upgrades that match your requirements as well as your budget.

 Overview
STM’s stage 0 upgrade is aimed at customers who are looking for a moderate improvement in power and torque without the need for bolt-on parts. We retain all the factory hardware, and simply remap the factory ECU to provide a mild increase in boost pressure, while optimising the Fuel and Ignition mapping. All our upgrades are custom-mapped by our professional tuner on our in-house chassis dyno.

 Overview
STM’s stage 1 upgrade is aimed at customers who intend to modify their car over time and are looking for the perfect starting point. Stage 1 forms the perfect base to work with for future modifications while providing impressive gains in power, torque and response right from the outset.
Stage 1 improves flow through the engine with a high quality cat-back exhaust system and panel filter, while the factory ECU is re-mapped to optimise the fuel, ignition timing and cam timing to suit. This results in a perfectly balanced package providing a massive gain in torque and power while improving response. All of this is coupled with an improved exhaust note which is still 100% legal.

STM’s stage 2 upgrade focuses on maximising the performance of the factory turbocharger. We pickup where stage 1 left off and fit a custom 3" front pipe and a STM de-cat pipe to further improve exhaust flow. STM’s stage 2 represents the ultimate in bang-for-your-buck performance and is guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of any performance enthusiast.
As with our other stages, the factory ECU is re-mapped to optimise the fuel, ignition timing and cam timing to suit the new modifications. The result is the ultimate performance available on the stock turbocharger, with no compromise in reliability.

 Overview
STM’s Stage 3 upgrades are for those looking to take things to the next level and aren’t afraid of serious power. Beyond stage 2, the factory fuel system and turbocharger are maxed out, so we address this with a direct-fit upgrade turbo and a high-flow fuel system. All of this hardware still retains the factory look in the engine bay for a totally stealth upgrade. The power however is anything but stock!
Even with these serious upgrades, the entire engine is still controlled through the factory ECU, providing perfect driveability, cold start operation and idle speed control.
Stage 3 will normally require 2-3 days to complete.

STM Intercooler Kit
At stage 3 or beyond, the factory intercooler becomes a limiting factor. Our FMIC kit includes a race-spec 100mm thick alloy core which fits neatly behind your front bumper, complete with high quality 3" alloy pipework, silicone joiners and t-bolt hose clamps. The STM FMIC kit comes with all mounting brackets to make it a true bolt-on installation.
Our FMIC kit can be supplied with mounting to suit either an HKS SSQV BOV or a Turbosmart Raceport BOV.

Boost Gauge Kit (Coming Soon)
STM’s boost gauge kit lets you keep an on your boost pressure any time. This can let you know something is wrong with your boost control system quickly before it becomes a costly problem. STM’s boost gauge kit is a neat and unobtrusive installation which integrates perfectly with the interior of your car.
Our boost gauge kit can be supplied for DIY installation, or our professional staff can fit it for you. The kit is available in PSI or Bar.
